OdysseyNH Family Center (OFC), Canterbury

Founded in 1994, the OdysseyNH Family Center is a long-term residential treatment program for N.H. women who are pregnant, or are parenting young children (under the age of 5), and are struggling with substance abuse. The program forms a unique therapeutic community where women, living with their children, learn to embrace sobriety, overcome self-defeating behaviors, gain confidence in their parenting skills, and become productive members of society. The program utilizes an Evidenced-Based Practice of "Seeking Safety," which helps women recover from trauma, substance abuse, and other co-occurring disorders. The average length of stay varies between four and nine months to solidify their recovery and the strength and confidence to move forward with their goals.

Requirements for admission to the OdysseyNH Family Center include:

  • Females who are pregnant or parenting children up to age 5
  • Substance free for at least 30 days (urine screen as verification)
  • No Methadone or Saboxen use
  • Medical and psychiatric records

All applicants will receive a telephone interview followed by a face-to-face interview to determine if the OFC program is appropriate.
