How to File a Complaint

As a client of OdysseyNH, you have the right to file a complaint any time you believe there has been a violation of your rights or when you have been subjected to any questionable or inappropriate treatment. These include, but are not limited to, the following situations: if you are dissatisfied with any policy or procedure that is used in relation to your care; if you are dissatisfied with any action taken by the program; or if you are dissatisfied with inaction on the part of the program. You will not be penalized for filing a complaint or grievance, and your complaint will be promptly investigated.

Our process encourages clients to express their feelings on a particular matter to a staff member with that staff member's supervisor present. The goal is to resolve any misunderstandings and to bring the matter to a satisfactory close.

Regardless of any efforts made through the expression process, you have the right to request a continuation of the process if you are not satisfied with the outcome. You may ask any staff member for a complaint form, fill it out and hand it in to a supervisor. This begins a formal fact finding process with the complaint investigator. You will be informed of the progress of the investigation and subsequent findings and recommendations by the complaint investigator.  If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the complaint, you have the right to appeal to the State of New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth and Families.
